Emprise Services plc has continued to meet the Investors in People Award Standard (IiP) in recognition of commitment to its employees.

Following a rigorous assessment, Emprise has been praised for its emphasis on employee welfare, strong training and development policy and overall respect for colleagues. Emprise has achieved continued recognition of this respected standard since it was first awarded in July 2004.

The company is one of the UK's largest support service providers, employing over 5,000 employees across a broad range of support roles principally cleaning and security.

"When we first achieved the award, we had around 2,500 employees," said Stephen Barrett, chairman of Emprise. "Since then, our workforce has more than doubled - but our flat structure and dedication to employee welfare has remained consistent."

Emprise encourages employees to undertake a number of qualifications, such as NVQ levels 1 & 2 in support services, as well as an Institute of Occupational Safety and Health qualification in Health and Safety, and Supervisory Development.

Stephen Barrett added: "The company has introduced a strong training and development programme, which has a considerable amount of resources allocated to it. This has ensured continuous improvement and opportunities for all colleagues. We are proud to receive the award for a second time and see it as testimony to the hard work of all Emprise employees."
