Delfont Mackintosh Theatres has signed a deal with Emprise Services plc to deliver a full cleaning service to all seven theatres in its portfolio. The contract will involve both front and rear of house, cleaning in the morning and again after matinee performances.
Each theatre will be supported by up to 14 Emprise staff depending on its size and the entire service will be carried out using environmentally-friendly cleaning products. Water-saving procedures and labour-saving devices, such as handheld buffers, will also be used throughout the theatres.
The relationship between Emprise and Delfont Mackintosh began in 1999 with the Queens theatre, and the win of the whole group is as a result of the contract going out to competitive tender.
"We were impressed by Emprise's consistently proactive approach to the relationship, and the company's innovative methods of greener cleaning," said Billy Differ, operations director at Delfont Mackintosh.
"Cameron Mackintosh has spent millions of pounds refurbishing the buildings, so it is vital that we maintain them at the highest possible levels. Our relationship with Emprise is designed to encompass all areas of cleaning through one efficient operation - previously this was carried out by separate companies."
Differ added: "We are also expecting significant cost savings - Emprise has suggested a number of areas, such as labour-saving devices, where we'll be able to achieve this."
"This contract win is as a direct result of the strength of our existing work with Delfont Mackintosh, and the reliability of our service," said Lee Clarke, divisional manager at Emprise. "We've been happy to help the group's theatres to implement environmentally-friendly procedures, and ultimately to ensure that every single seat could be the best in the house."
